Client: Dog and Cat Food Advisor – A dog and cat food website that aims to provide unbiased reviews and helpful guidance to pet parents.
Goals: To write well-researched blog articles optimised for SEO. In a competitive space, The Dog Food Advisor wanted to become the go-to website for pet advice and dog food reviews. As a website that does not sell products or services, they focus on well-written, reliable content to attract viewers to the website.
Audience and tone/branding: Pet parents want to find the best nutrition for their dog or cat. Pet nutrition is a serious concern for pet parents so the one is informative yet inviting to position the brand as approachable and serious about what they’re talking about. To do this, I avoided adding lots of puns or ‘fur baby’ language yet added in some light-hearted anecdotes that pet parents would understand.
Impact: Through dedicated and consistent content, The Dog Food Adivsor now ranks on the first page of google for many popular search topics (see below examples).
